Throughout the years, the Star Wars movie franchise has produced some of the best movie quotes of all time. While the movie is not out in theaters until December 18th, the movie trailers and TV spots have provided us with many quotes already. Best Quotes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Luke Skywalker said, “The force is strong in my family. My father has it, I have it, my sister has it, and you have that power too.” This quote is from The Force Awakens trailer. Let’s break down the quote since different scenes were shown. Luke says into darkness, “The Force is strong in my family.” An image is shown of the melted helmet of Darth Vader when Luke says, “My father has it.” Then, he says, “I have it,” while a shot is shown of a man with a hood is crouched down next to R2-D2. When he says, “My sister has it,” an unknown person is given a lightsaber and when he says, “You have that power too,” darkness is once again shown. Speculation is that Rey is handed the lightsaber by Leia, her mother.
- Finn says, “We all need to run.”
Han Solo asks Finn, “Are you sure you’re up for this?”
Finn replies, “Hell no!”

- Finn: We can’t out run them!
Rey: We might! In that Quad Jumper!
Finn: Hey! We need a pilot!

- Maz Kanata, “I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes, I know your eyes!” This appeared in the TV spot for the movie and were narrated by Lupita Nong’s, who plays the role of Maz Kanata. She wears black goggles to cover her eyes because they are said to hold a secret power. It is unsure who she is talking to, but speculation is that she is talking to Finn.
- Kylo Ren, “Nothing will stand in our way. I will finish what you started.” This appears in the movie trailer and shows Kylo Ren looking down at the melted helmet of Darth Vader when he is saying this.

I am not a big Star Wars person. I saw Episode 1 when that came out, but have never seen the originals. My brother is a HUGE fan though, and has read just about every book about Star Wars that is out there. My husband is also really looking forward to this movie, but has made a point not to watch any previews or reviews etc. because he wants to be completely surprised in the movie theater 🙂
I had never seen Star Wars until last year. I have two little boys and it goes with the territory.
