Putting up a few great, movie-themed decorations helps to make your movie night party more fun and memorable. Lay out a red carpet runner along your front walk, up to your door so that your guests can walk the red carpet as they show up.
If you’re buying disposable dishes like plates or cups, make sure to get some that are Hollywood themed, or that feature characters from the movie you’ll be watching. Also, look for movie posters that you can hang up throughout the house to make it feel like the main lobby of a movie theater.
Serve Lots of Snacks
Movie night wouldn’t be the same without popcorn. Pop plenty of popcorn for your guests to enjoy.
If you’d like, you can also set out butter, salt, and grated cheese to turn your kitchen counter into a popcorn bar. You can also bake cupcakes or brownies so that your guests can have a sweet treat during intermission. If you want your guests to really feel like they’re at the movies, you can also bu some snack-sized boxes of some movie theater candies for them to enjoy.

Of course, it’s best to choose a movie that will keep all of your guests happy. If you know them well, just pick a movie everyone will enjoy. If you’re not sure, you could try researching online. You can also try calling a few of your guests before the party to see if they have any suggestions.

Play Party Games
Games are a great way to help a party stay exciting. Here are a few games that you can play both during the movie and once everyone’s done watching:
- Make movie-themed bingo cards, with something that you might see in a movie on each space (like “pets,” “food,” or “cell phone.”) Have each guest cover that spot whenever that thing is shown on screen.
- Pick five different popular movies, and write their names down on a piece of poster board. Then, play a song from the soundtrack of one of those movies, and see who can guess which movie it’s from the fastest. Whoever can guess the most is the winner.
- Print out pictures of celebrities’ faces, and cut each of them into four different strips (hairline, eyes, nose, and mouth.) Then, split into teams, scramble up all of the strips, and see which team can sort them all out the fastest.
