I just love emotional, heartfelt movies like Gifted. It’s been a while since I watched a good drama, so I’m really looking forward to seeing this one when it releases on April 12th! If you checked out of movie trivia and quotes about the upcoming flick, you know that it’s probably going to require at least a handful of tissues! The movie centers on Mary Elder, a young girl who is gifted in Math, and her parents’ struggle for custody. Here are a few other great heartwarming movies like Gifted to watch while you wait for the release.

Vitus
Vitus is a 2004 drama movie that stars Teo Gheorghiu, a real-life piano prodigy, who was born in Switzerland on August 12, 1992. The movie focuses on Vitus von Holzen, a 12-year-old piano prodigy. Vitus lives with his parents Leo and Helen, who are well-meaning but too overbearing. So, Vitus goes to live with his grandfather so he can chase his dreams, not those of his parents. Vitus stars Teo Gheorghiu as Vitus, Urs Jucker as Leo, Julika Jenkins as Helen and Bruno Ganz as Vitus’ grandfather.
Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte’s Web is a 2006 fantasy comedy movie that is based on the 1952 book of the same name by E.B. White. The movie tells the story of Wilbur, the runt of a pig litter, who was close to being killed by farmer John Arable, until he is saved by John’s daughter, Fern Arable. When Wilbur becomes an adult pig, he and Fern, along with Charlotte, a spider that lives in the same barn as Wilbur, hatch a plan to ensure Wilbur doesn’t become the family’s dinner. Charlotte’s Web stars Kevin Anderson as John and Dakota Fanning as Fern, along with the voices of Dominic Scott Kay as Wilbur and Julia Roberts as Charlotte.
Akeelah and the Bee
Akeelah and the Bee is a 2006 drama that is based on the concept of the 1994 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Akeelah Anderson is a young girl who lives in the southern part of Los Angeles and tries to make her way to the National Spelling Bee, with the help of her coach, Dr. Joshua Larabee. Akeelah and the Bee stars Keke Palmer as Akeelah and Laurence Fishburne as Joshua.
August Rush
August Rush is a 2007 drama movie. Evan Taylor is an orphaned musical prodigy, who uses his gift to try and find his biological parents, Louis Connelly and Lyla Novacek, with the help of a social worker named Richard Jeffries. August Rush stars Freddie Highmore as Evan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Louis, Keri Russell as Lyla and Terrence Howard as Richard.
Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland is a 2015 mystery adventure movie. The movie centers around Casey Newton, a teenager who excels at science and Frank Walker, a genius inventor, who partake on a journey to Tomorrowland, an alternate dimension. Tomorrowland stars Britt Robertson as Casey and George Clooney as Frank.

I loved Akeelah and the Bee when I was younger! I remember doing on a filed trip to see it when I was in junior high and it made me want to enter my schools spelling bee!

Charlotte’s Web is and will always be a favorite and a classic. Some of the others I have never heard of or seen will have to check them out.

I haven’t heard of Gifted before. I did see Tomorrowland and enjoyed it. The original Charlotte’s Web was great, I haven’t seen that remake.
This reminds me, I haven’t watched tomorrowland yet. I’ll also check on the others as it can really be a good boost.

I had not heard about the film Gifted, but it sounds like my kind of movie. I definitely want to see Tomorrowland. It sounds like a great family movie.
