Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is an upcoming science fiction action horror movie that will be in theaters on January 27, 2017. It is the 6^th and final installment of the movie franchise and the sequel to the 2012 Resident Evil: Retribution. Here are some interesting trivia about the movie.

There is a TV series that is currently being planned, following the final installment of the Resident Evil movie franchise, and will air sometime in 2018 or 2019.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was supposed to begin filming in the fall of 2013, with a theater release set for September 12, 2014. However, it was postponed due to Milla Jovovich being pregnant with her 2^nd child. Jovovich gave birth to a daughter, Dashiel Edan, on April 1, 2015.

Filming began for the final installment on September 18, 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa and wrapped up on December 10, 2015 in Belhar, South Africa.

Bingbing Li, who played the role of Ada Wong in the 2012 installment Resident Evil: Retribution, was set to star in the final movie but ended up leaving production before the movie began filming because she was starring in another movie that was filming in China.

Several actors from previous Resident Evil movies were not invited to take part in the final installment. This included:

• Sienna Guillory- Played Jill Valentine in the 2^nd, 4^th and 5^th
• Aryana Engineer- Played Becky in the 5^th
• Spencer Locke- Played K-Mart in the 3^rd and 4^th

• Johann Urb- Played Leon Kennedy in the 5^th

Megan Charpentier, who played the role of the Red Queen in the 2012 movie Resident Evil: Retribution, had outgrown her role. In this final installment, the role was cast to Ever Gabo Anderson. She is the real-life daughter of Milla Jovovich and her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson, who directs the Resident Evil movies. Jovovich and Anderson were married on August 22, 2009.

There are several characters in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter that were never in any of the Resident Evil video games. This list includes:
