Monday night at The Voice Season 9, the top 11 performed and yesterday one is eliminated. In case you missed the show, read our recap to get caught on the highlights.

The Voice Season 9 Top 11 Performances and Elimination Recap

  1. Shelby- Team Adam- You and I by Lady Gaga

I like her performance but I do think she put too much into it. I don’t know how to explain it but it had a growly edge that should have been toned down a level or two. She looks awkward on stage, like she is not comfortable. However, when she sings the chorus, she lets it all out.

  1. Evan- Team Pharrell- Smile by Charlie Chaplin

Evan really had to step it up and give it all he has this week but he didn’t do that. It was a performance that was dull and boring. This performance does nothing to show what his true vocal ability is.

  1. Barrett- Team Blake- Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker

Barrett is the one who picked this song instead of Blake. I am not sure why he picked this song though. It just doesn’t seem right for him. He seems really confident on the stage but he just doesn’t put anything original in this song. While I don’t think it is an awful performance but he really isn’t anything special into this performance.

  1. Korin- Team Gwen- One Hope by Mandy Moore

I have to say that I didn’t think that this was the right song choice for Korin, but I was wrong. She does really well with this song. I don’t like the fact that the band seemed to outplay her, though. It was a great performance for her overall, though.

  1. Amy- Team Adam- Blank Space by Taylor Swift

Amy did a great job on this song, putting her own twist on it. Her voice is a bit too soft but stylized at the same time. I like the fact that Amy is always consistent and always herself, she doesn’t try to be something she is not.

  1. Zach- Team Blake- Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not by Thompson Square

I like his voice, but I don’t like his performance at all. His timing seems to be off at times and he is pitchy at times too.

  1. Madi- Team Pharrell- Love is Blindness by U2

Madi has some decent parts of her performance. She hits all the big notes as she should. She put all her heart and soul into her performance.

  1. Braiden- Team Gwen- True by Spandau Ballet

Not really a huge fan of this performance. He sounds like he is starring in a high school musical show. He does end the song on a huge note, which was good.

  1. Jordan- Team Adam- Who You Are by Jessie J

Jordan hits his usually high notes and puts all he has into the performance. The crowd obviously loves the performance too.

  1. Emily- Team Blake- Why Not Me by The Judds

Emily gives this song a bluegrass twist, which is awesome. I think this is her best performance so far. She has such a great personality that shines through in this performance.

  1. Jeffrey- Team Gwen- Dancing on My Own by Robyn

The original song is upbeat, but Jeffrey performs the song as a ballad. He puts so much emotion into this performance. I love this performance that he is doing.

Yesterday at The Voice Season 9, one of the contestants was eliminated, leaving the top 10. Before any results, Brad Paisley is on stage to sing his hit Country Nation. Then the top 11 take the stage and the results begin. Amy from Team Adam and Braiden from Team Gwen are both safe. So is Zach from Team Blake and Jordin from Team Adam.

Next is Madi from Team Pharrell and Emily from Team Blake to be saved, leaving us with 5 contestants remaining. The next three to be saved are Jeffrey from Team Gwen, Barrett from Team Blake and Shelby from Team Adam.

That means that Evan from Team Pharrell and Korin from Team Gwen must compete for the InstaSave.

Evan sings Let’s Stay Together by Marvin Gaye- Not really feeling this performance and I think his time with The Voice is about over.

Korin sings She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5- This was a decent performance, but she doesn’t have the ability to sing high notes.
