Halloween at America’s Funniest Home Videos- Season 26- Episode 3 Recap #AFV

AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS - "Episode 2601" -- "America's Funniest Home Videos," the longest-running primetime show in ABC history, returns with new host Alfonso Ribeiro ("Dancing with the Stars," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air") on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The video highlights in the season 26 premiere episode include a package of "Animal Encounters" complete with an affectionate seal who jumps into a man's kayak to snuggle, a dolphin who gives a woman climbing into a boat a playful nudge, a sneaky raccoon is caught on camera climbing into the house through a doggy door to steal the dog's food, a woman finds a possum underneath her bed, and a practical joke is played on a group of teens who bite into caramel onions rather than apples. Yesterday’s episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos, season 26, episode 3 is focused around the theme of Halloween. Alfonso starts off the show by saying that the viewers can’t see, but he is actually wearing a costume- the guy with the best job in the world. Read our recap and get caught on the highlights.

Some of the funniest videos:

  • A little boy is playing basketball inside his home. He shoots the ball in the basket and gets excited…until the hoop falls on him.
  • A husky man is fishing when someone tosses a rubber shark in the water. The guy gets scared, thinking it’s a real shark.
  • A large guard dog is fascinated by a lone feather on the porch. When the feather falls, the dog gets scared and jumps backward.
  • A woman has a date at home with her man. He is recording her, telling her what a romantic night he has planned. The problem: she has taken a bit too much cough syrup and passes out on the table.

The America’ Funniest Home Videos  segment called Here’s Why:

  • Here’s Why Dale Puts Sunscreen on his gums- video features a guy lying out in the sun with his mouth wide open.
  • Here’s Why Meredith Is Still Hungry After Lunch- video features a woman eating lunch, when she turns away, a dog appears, takes some of her lunch and disappears again.

America’s Funniest Home Videos did a montage of dog videos with some really cute yet funny dogs. A dog owner makes an object in his hand disappear, which freaks out his dog. But, when he makes the object reappear in his mouth, the dog quickly backs up, freaked out by the magic trick. Another video shows a kid playing outside with his dog. He has a trick camera set up when all of a sudden, the dog pees on the camera.

One of my favorite Halloween montage videos featured a little girl dressed as a ladybug. It was her first time trick-or-treating. She walks up, rings the doorbell and when the woman opens the door, the little ladybug walks right into the house. Another cute Halloween video featured a moving hand inside a bowl on the floor. A small black kitten is having a ball playing with the moving hand.

Time to play a game:  What’s Behind the Scary Ghost

I love the game segment on America’s Funniest Videos! Tonight’s game is called What’s Behind the Scary Ghost. The players are Mark and Stacy who have been married for five years. A video is shown, but part of the video is obstructed by a ghost. The players need to decide what is behind the ghost.

Video #1– A little girl starts screaming when she sees her mother. Mom’s face shows a ghost so players need to guess why the little girl is screaming at mom’s face. Is mom wearing:

  1. Evil clown makeup
  2. Malevolent monster mask or
  3. Unsettling unibrow

Stacy guesses #3 while Mark guesses #2. The correct answer is #3- score one for Stacy.

Video #2- A dog is walking around the house while something is stealing his dog toys. A ghost appears over the person or thing. Who is stealing the dog’s toys?

  1. Monstrous monkey in a diaper
  2. Frightening ferret or
  3. Overly aggressive Roomba

Stacy guesses #3 while Mark guesses #2. The correct answer is #2- score one for Mark.

Video #3– Something is seen pushing the screen door open. The ghost appears so who or what is trying to push the screen door?

  1. Terrifying turtle
  2. Haunted hamster or
  3. Possessed parakeet

Stacy thinks it’s #3 while Mark thinks it’s #1. The correct answer is #1- scoring Mark the win. Alfonso gives both of them AFV T-shirts for playing.

I love cats so the cat segments of America’s Funniest Videos are my favorite.

Tonight, a white cat is startled when he sees a picture of himself. Also, a guinea pig is sitting on a cat tower while the cat tries and tries to get him off, to no avail. I love this next one. A cat is licking an ice cream cone when suddenly she stops and makes the cutest brain freeze face.

I couldn’t stop laughing at this next one. A preacher is in the middle of church service when a little boy in the front row quietly walks up to him and asks where the candy is, to which the preacher replied it was in the back room. The preacher then says, “God Bless America’s Funniest Videos!”

It is that time of the night folks! The time where we see the three finalists and choose a winner. The three finalists are Drowsy Date Night, Photobombing Bulldog, and Brain Freeze Feline. Photobombing Bulldog wins 3rd place, Drowsy Date Night wins 2nd place and the 1st place winner is Brain Freeze Feline.

  1. I really like this show with Alfonso-he brings so much energy to the show and it is so much fun to watch all the bloopers! It was a fun show last night!

  2. I used to love this show! I think everyone thought they could win money from this at least once 😛

  3. I’ll be honest, I had no idea that Alphonso was the host of this show 🙂 I did see him on Dancing with the Stars a couple of weeks ago; he had a real “host” presence, so it makes sense he’s a host elsewhere.

  4. This show can be funny, but sometimes I just feel bad for the people! I used to watch it when Bob Saget was the host- I didn’t realize they still had new episodes on, too.

  5. I had no clue that America’s Funniest Home Videos even did a game segment. I haven’t watched it in ages, but the dog videos sound hilarious 🙂

  6. I have to admit, this show is my guilty pleasure. It’ll be interesting to see how Alfonso does — I loved Tom Bergeron, but I have always loved “Carlton” too!

  7. AFHV was my grandmother’s favorite TV show. I still picture her laughing when we watched together. Great memories. Thanks!

  8. I haven’t watched this show in so long but have the fondest memories of growing up and watching it!
