American Idol Season 15 Top 10 Performances & Eliminations recap

Dalton Rapattoni– Radioactive by Imagine Dragons- The first one to be in the top 8 is DALTON! I love this guy. I loved this song choice for him. He is a rocker and this is the perfect rock song for him.

Lee Jean– Use Somebody by Kings of Leon- I like Lee Jean and I like this song but I don’t like him doing this song. I think he has so much more to give and he is holding back. I would like to see what he really has because he is a talented singer. But, if he is going to stay in this competition, he needs to step it up.

Sonika Vaid- Since You Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson- This girl is very hard to compete with, I think. She is definitely a contender to win this competition. I think that she always chooses the right songs and she also makes them her own. She did an amazing job with this song, great vocals and a great performance.

MacKenzie Bourg– I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston- I like MaKenzie a lot but I don’t think he is top 5 material. I just think that there is much better talent out there, like Sonika and Dalton. With that said, I think he did a good job with this song.

La’Porsha Renae– Halo by Beyonce- She has such a beautiful voice and a Beyonce song was the right choice for her. She gave this song everything she had and nailed it. I mean, what else can be said about her that hasn’t already been said.

Trent Harmon– When A Man Loves A Woman by Percy Sledge- Not a huge fan of Trent and honestly not sure how he made it this far. This was the totally wrong song choice for him. He has a great voice but seems to always choose the wrong songs.

Tristan McIntosh– Go Rest High on That Mountain by Vince Gill- I like her voice and I like her personality. She does well with ballads and really should stick with ballads for the remainder of the show.

So, with that said…the bottom 3 are: Avalon Young, Olivia Rox and Gianna Isabella.

Avalon Young– Earned It by the Weekend- Beautiful job by Avalon. This was the ideal song choice for her. She puts emotion into the song and totally gives it all she has. That is exactly what she needs to do to stay in this competition.

Olivia Rox- Trouble by Pink- So, out of the bottom 3, Olivia is my favorite. She has great vocals and such a spunky personality. However, this was totally the wrong song choice for her. I think that she blew her chance to be saved by the judges.

Gianna Isabella– If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys- Gianna has an amazing voice but I don’t think she does well with ballads. I think she should have chosen something a little faster and a little more modern.

After the judges discuss who they will save, they decide to save Avalon Young. This means Olivia Rox and Gianna Isabella are eliminated. I like Olivia and was hoping she would be saved by the judges, but it is what it is, I guess.
