Preview of the 43rd Annual American Music Awards

2015 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS - International music superstar Jennifer Lopez will host and perform at the "2015 American Music Awards." The "2015 American Music Awards" will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. The show will feature the hottest performances from today's biggest artists and present fan-voted awards in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative Rock, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational, Electronic Dance Music, as well as categories for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl's, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Top Soundtrack. The 43rd Annual American Music Awards will be on ABC at 8PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theatre and hosted by Jennifer Lopez. The nominations were announced on Good Morning America on October 13, 2015 by Joe Jonas and Charlie Puth.

Those who are scheduled to be presenters at the award show include Paula Abdul, Zendaya, Ashley Benson, Donnie Wahlberg, Betty Cantrell, Wilmer Valderrama, Ciara, Hailee Steinfeld, Kelsea Ballerini, Jeremy Sisto, Terry Crews, Alicia Silverstone, Hannah Davis, Nick Robinson, DNCE, Jeremy Renner, Florida Georgia Line, Norman Reedus, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin O’Leary, Ellie Goulding, Chloe Grace Moretz, Gigi Hadid, Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Kylie Jenner, Jenny McCarthy, Julianne Hough, Tove Lo, Wiz Khalifa, Little Big Town and Taylor Lautner.

Taylor Swift has the most nominations with 6 while Ed Sheeran and The Weekend have 5 nominations each. Other multiple nominees include Walk the Moon, Sam Hunt, Meghan Trainor, Nicki Minaj and Sam Smith with 3 nominations each and Wiz Khalifa, Jason Aldean, Mark Ronson, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Luke Bryan, Charlie Puth, Drake, One Direction, Fetty Wap, Bruno Mars, Florida Georgia Line, Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande with 2 nominations each.

The nominations for the American Music Awards are decided by important fan interactions that are reflected on billboard.com and in Billboard Magazine. The nominations are based on factors including album sales, digital single sales, touring, radio airplay, streaming and social activity.

There are some great performers scheduled for Sunday’s live show including Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Gwen Stefani, The Weekend, Jennifer Lopez, 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Carrie Underwood, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Walk the Moon, Meghan Trainor with Charlie Puth, Luke Bryan with Karen Fairchild, One Direction and Pentatonix.

The Artist of the Year award originally started with 10 nominations and was whittled down to 5 with fans voting. The 5 nominees are Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, One Direction and Taylor Swift.

  4. I have seen the advertisements for the AMAs with Jennifer Lopez, and I just can’t believe that woman still looks so unbelievably flawless! It’s also really great to see Ed Sheeran nominated!

  6. It’s time to get myself updated with this. It has been a while since I last watched and took note of music awards. I missed it this year ( again ) …. lol. It does seem though that See You Again did pretty big.
