Sew Cool Sewing Crafts For Kids To Make

Looking for fun sewing crafts for kids but aren’t sure you really want to let them handle a needle, scissors and complicated machinery yet? I have a great solution for you! My daughter got a really neat gift for her 6th birthday that let her create amazing sewing crafts for kids without me worrying about her injuring herself. It’s called the Sew Cool Sewing Studio. Instead of using needles, the machine uses special Sew Cool Sewing Studio fabric and embroidery fonts to stitch the fabric together, making it perfect for young crafters who are just starting out. Let me tell you about it!

The Sew Cool Machine is, as the name implies, a really cool machine that lets your children make some really fun sewing crafts for kids!  At first, my daughter didn’t want to try it. She thought it was too complicated for her. But then we sat down and explored it. At first sight the machine seemed complicated but it is not. You switch on the button from behind, add one of the fabrics and start sewing. As easy as that! No skills required at all.

The machine comes with nine patterns and we could  make stuffed animals, purses, anything that we found cool. It also comes with eight pieces of fabric, three pre-cut projects, embellishments, stuffing and some other extras. Basically, everything you need to get started on fun sewing crafts for kids right out of the box.

My daughter is in that girly age of purses, make up, etc. She thought it would be cool to make a purse first . She wanted to give it to her friend, who has an upcoming birthday party.

It took her minutes to make the purse. What I like about this machine is that it has NO NEEDLES. It is safe for a 6 year-old to use. Your child may need some assistance at first to get the hang of it, but once she gets going, it’s pretty easy to use.

Once the purse made, my daughter got more excited about the machine and went on a sewing spree. She made this nice little owl. We didn’t stuff it yet, though.

Now this machine is for kids use only and the patterns provided. It is not for grown up use.  My husband wanted to fix one of his pants and thought the machine would be a good options. It is NOT! It was so funny because his pants got stuck in the machine and it took use some creativity to remove it without breaking the machine. So use it only for making fun sewing crafts for kids, not fixing your husband’s pants!

Overall, my daughter is having a great time with her Sew Cool machine. I have a feeling I’ll be needing to order some refill kits soon! Thankfully, they have plenty of cute ones to choose from!

What do you think of this cool little sewing machine? What types of sewing crafts for kids would your little ones make first?

  1. Those are all really cute. What little girl wouldn’t love those?

  2. I got one of these for my daughter for Christmas, and unfortunately, it broke almost immediately. It would have been really cool if it hadn’t ended up being returned. We kept the additional sewing kits and made up the cute little stuffed animals and pillows with my big sewing machine.

  3. This looks easy enough for someone like me to attempt a try. Very cool!

  4. I has been wanting to get my daughter something like this for a while, but considering she’s 6, I didn’t know if there was anything safe out there. So glad I read your review- I think we will be checking this out since she will be 7 in a few weeks 😉

  5. What a cute sewing machine! This sounds like a great way to introduce sewing to the little ones. It opens you up to so many fun crafts!

  6. Okay, that has to be one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. I just know my Little Miss would love it. Thanks for sharing…

  8. I bought this for a friends little girl as a b-day gift. Her mom says she loves it and uses it all the time.

  9. I want to teach my girls to sew and this looks like a great way for the little ones to start!

  10. I like this .. so neat! Its great for creative little girls and the best part is they can create whatever they like without the worry about hurting themselves

  11. I should of bought one of these for my daughter when she was younger. Instead she wanted to use my sewing machine and I got nervous and she gave up her interest.
