Tattoos that make you want to travel might just be the best kind of tattoo to consider! It is the kind of tattoo that you get as a reminder to travel, to see the world, to go exploring. I have a tattoo specifically placed on my right forearm right above my wrist that says ‘smile’ as a reminder to always smile. Travel tattoos have the same idea. Check out my faves below.
Tattoos That Make You Want to Travel
‘Phoebe got the whole world’ remember that line from Friends when Rachel and Phoebe got tattoos? I wasn’t always in love with this one, but it’s growing on me. Something about seeing all the countries ‘flat’ on my wrist or somewhere I can see it all the time would be a constant reminder of my need for travel and how I am going to get there. It doesn’t have to be big, something simple, like just the outline in a place you will see it all the time.
This might seem like an obvious one, which might not be appealing to you but hear me out. I am all about placing those things that you want in life, right in front of you. What better way than to make it permanent? Airplanes get us from place to place faster than any other way. It might even be the symbol of travel. I am not saying you have to get a Boeing 747 from Southwest on your forearm but think about a simple outline of a plane on your wrist, or ankle.
I love old, vintage images. A compass is a vintage image of travel that is still used today. What does a compass do? It guides you to where you need to go. Think about that for a moment.
Got these lovely wrist tattoos that perfectly describes who I am❤️ Wanderlust is a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world. Carpe diem- Latin. seize the day; enjoy the present, as opposed to placing all hope in the future. #tattoedgirl #carpediemtattoo #wanderlusttattoo
I was not always a big fan of tattooed words. I preferred an image that represented what I was trying to say. However, there is something powerful about words. You have endless options as well. I like simple reminders such as ‘live fearlessly’ and ‘wanderlust’. The great thing about tattoos is that no one other than you needs to know what it means!
I absolutely love this one! It might just be my next tattoo. The ‘O’ could also be the world and signify travel (obviously). If it were me, I would put it in a place I could see all the time, small but visible. A constant reminder to just ‘GO’. Travel where you want, life is too short and the world too big to be putting it off until the planets align just right. That is my favorite thing about tattoos that make you want to travel, they give you that inspiration every day.
I love tattoos, and especially ones that have special meaning to you. My favorites are the tattoos people ask you about because it is not obvious as to why you have it. I have yet to have a tattoo symbolically representing the travel I have done and still have to do, but I may be making my next appointment soon!
