Don’t hide from the chill, celebrate the snow with some fun winter party games for kids! During the cold, wintery season, kids start to get really excited about the coming Holidays. Whether it is a Christmas party, birthday party or just a fun chilly get together for your kids and their friends, having some fantastic party games is a must. What kind of games are ideal for cold weather and winter?  Here are a few of the best winter party games for kids.

Winter party games for kids

Dress me Mama

If you want to make a room full of kids laugh and have a great time, have them speed dress each other. This is a very simple game but it is a ton of fun. Grab about four layers of clothing including shoes and socks for each team and have them start at the same time. When the game begins, the team tries to dress the individual from head to toe in the outfit. The person being dressed can’t help in any way. The first team to get their “baby” dressed in winter gear completely will win.

Snow War

This winter party game is played with a million variations. The bottom line is to put together about a million snowballs and build two, three or four snow forts. This can be done inside with pieces of wadded up paper for snowballs. A couch makes a perfect snow fort. Get rid of any breakables before you begin. Next, you need to put an adult behind each fort. If someone is hit with a “snowball” thrown by another team, they are eliminated. You keep playing until one fort is left.

Marshmallow Soccer

This is one of the neatest games out there. Take a small, round table and make several “goals” with tape. Essentially you divide the table edges into equal sized blocks. Usually around four or five is all that will fit. Then you place a soccer ball (marshmallow) in the center of the table. Each person around the table will get a foot (a straw to blow with) to try to move the soccer ball off the table in another person’s goal. Each time someone scores they get a point. Eating said marshmallows is not a good idea simply because of all the blowing.

Find my Outfit

Winter party games  for kids that involve a scavenger hunt are a ton of fun too. Get a complete winter outfit together along with any other winter items that make sense. A hat, coat, long johns, gloves, scarf, skis, etc… you get the idea. Now take these items and ahead of the winter party, hide them throughout the play area. Then have the kids try to find them for points.

Snowflake Madness

Making snowflakes is fun no matter what age you are. Simply fold up pieces of paper and have them cut little pieces out with safety scissors. With practice, they will unfold into wonderful snowflakes of all kinds. There are countless snowflake templates and ideas online, but my favorite one is found here. When you finish, hang them all over the house carefully from string and enjoy the beauty of your homemade snowstorm.

What fun ideas! They are actually saying we might get our first snow of the season tonight! Only an inch or so but it’s getting the kids in the mood for winter fun. I love the Dress me mama and the soccer one would definitely be a hit!

Marshmallow Soccer sounds fun. We’ve got a soccer player in the house, so that makes it even better.
