Okay, first off, I have to say that I had no idea that Bradley Cooper could sing. I was totally wrong in that assumption as he has a beautiful, soothing voice when he sings.

Okay, now that’s out of the way…let’s move on! A few things you should know before we get started:

  • A Star is Born is an upcoming musical, romantic, drama movie, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
  • Jackson Maine (Cooper), a seasoned musician, takes Ally (Gaga), a struggling artist, under his wings.
  • Ally had pretty much given up on her dream of becoming a famous singer, until Jackson coaxes her into the limelight.
  • However, Jackson soon finds his own career in a downward spiral, as he deals with his inner demons, mainly aging and alcoholism.

A Star is Born is set to be released in movie theaters on October 5, 2018.

1. Cooper wasn’t the only choice for the role

Before Bradley Cooper was cast in the role of Jackson Maine, several other actors were considered for the role, including Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise and Will Smith.

2. Neither was Lady Gaga

Before Lady Gaga was cast in the role of Ally, numerous others were considered for the role, including Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Esperanza Spalding, Jennifer Lopez, Kesha, Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Shakira.

3. Cooper wears many hats

Bradley Cooper not only has a starring role in the movie, but he also is the director and producer as well. A Star is Born is his directorial debut. He has been the producer in 2 past movies. He produced the 2016- War Dogs, in which he also plays the role of Henry Girard and he produced the 2014- American Sniper, in which he also plays the role of Chris Kyle.

4. Filming during Coachella

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper filmed some of their movie scenes at the 2017 Coachella Festival, where Lady Gaga was headlining. The two took the stage, to film the scenes, on April 18th and April 19th.

5. Third time is a charm!

The 2018 movie is the 3rd remake of the original 1937 movie, which starred Fredric March and Janet Gaynor. The 1954 movie featured James Mason and Judy Garland, while the 1976 movie starred Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand.

6. It’s Lady Gaga, baby!

On December 12, 2017, Lady Gaga debunked a popular internet rumor on her Twitter page- “I’ve seen a lot of rumors on the internet that for “A Star Is Born” I’ll be billed as Stefani, but that’s not the case. It’s Lady Gaga, baby!”

For those who don’t know, Lady Gaga’s real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. By the way, her Twitter page has an astounding 76,668,742 followers. That is insane and an indication to just how popular she is!
