Dancing with the Star Hosts: Past and Present

Tom Bergeron

Tom Bergeron started on day one and is still hosting today. Bergeron is from Haverhill, Massachusetts and is a television personality, game show host and comedian. He was the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 2001-2015. He was also the host of the game show Hollywood Squares from 1998-2004. From 2005-2010, Bergeron was the co-host of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon. Throughout his career, he has won several awards including the Daytime Emmy Award in 2000 for Outstanding Game Show Host for Hollywood Squares, the Primetime Emmy Award in 2012 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for Dancing with the Stars and the Critics’ Choice TV Award in 2013 for Best Reality Host for Dancing with the Stars.

Samantha Harris

Samantha Harris was the host of the show from Season 2 through Season 9. Samantha Harris was born in Hopkins, Minnesota and is a television host. She appeared as a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight from 2010-2012 and then returned again this year. She also was the weekend presenter and correspondent on The Insider from 2009-2010. In 2008, she co-hosted the live red carpet pre-show for the Academy Awards with Regis Philbin. She has been married to Michael Hess since 2005, and they have two children together: Josselyn was born in 2007 and Hilary was born in 2010.

Brooke Burke

Charvet- Brooke Burke-Charvet hosted DWTS from Season 10 through Season 17. Brooke Burke-Charvet was known as just Brook Burke until she married David Charvet in 2011. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut and is an actress, television personality, model and dancer. She was the host of the E! TV network show Wild on from 1999-2002. She is the Dancing with the Stars Season 7 Mirror Ball Trophy winner with dance professional Derek Hough. Brooke was the co-host of the Miss America pageant in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015. She is the mother of two children from her first marriage to Garth Fisher, Neriah born in 2000 and Sierra born in 2002. She also has two children from her marriage to David Charvet, Heaven-born in 2007 and Shaya born in 2008.

Erin Andrews

Erin Andrews has been hosting the show since Season 18. Erin Andrews is from Lewiston, Maine and is a sportscaster, television personality and journalist. Besides hosting DWTS, Andrews has also been the host of Fox College Football (Fox Sports) since 2012. Her father, Steve Andrews, is an award-winning investigative reporter. In 2000, Andrews graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in Telecommunications. She competed in Season 10 of DWTS where she was paired with pro-Maksim Chmerkovskiy, placing 3rd in the competition. Andrews was also the co-host of College Game Day on ESPN from 2010-2012.

  2. I must admit that I have never watched Dancing with the Stars. I do like dance shows. I just no longer have TV and therefore do not watch many new shows.

  3. It’s hard to believe there have already been that many hosts and that the show has lasted as long as it has!

  4. I only watched an episode or two. I don’t recall which host it was at the time. Maybe Brooke?
