Bob Saget was born on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA. He is a television host, actor and comedian. He is best known for playing the role of Danny Tanner on the TV series Full House from 1987-1995 and being the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989-1997. Saget also voiced the role of the future Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother from 2005-2014.

Saget began his career as a stand-up comedian and has been on several national tours with his comedy show. He was the co-host of The Morning Program in 1987, but the show was cancelled after just nine short months. After leaving The Morning Program, Saget landed the role of Danny Tanner on Full House, a role he held until 1997 when the show ended.

In 2001, Saget landed one of the main roles on the TV show Raising Dad, playing Matt Stewart, a widow who is raising his two daughters on his own. The show only lasted for one season and then was cancelled. He also had a main role on the TV show Surviving Suburbia in 2009 as the role of Steve Patterson. However, the show had low ratings and was cancelled that same year.

In 2013, Saget was part of a stand-up special called That’s What I’m Talkin’ About. It was filmed in Seattle, WA at The Moore Theatre. The special was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. The special is now available on DVD, CD, download and Netflix.

He released a book in 2014 titled Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian, which is a New York Times Best Seller.

Bob Saget was married from 1982-1997 to Sherri Kramer. They have three children together: Aubrey and Lara (twins) born in 1989 and Jennifer born in 1992.

Saget lost his father, Benjamin, in 2007, his mother, Dolly, in 2014, his sister Andrea in 1985 at the age of 34 from an aneurysm and his sister Gay in 1993 at the age of 47 from scleroderma. Saget has been a member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation for many years now.

Most recently, Bob Saget will be appearing in the new Netflix spinoff series Fuller House. The show will focus on sisters DJ Tanner and Stephanie Tanner, and best friend Kimmy Gibbler. Almost all of the cast will be featured in their roles, including Bob Saget as everyone’s loveable and fav Dad. I can’t wait to see what Netflix does with this spinoff!

I didn’t know about the spinoff. Saget has been around a long time. Apparently, his live standup routines are fairly X rated, I have read.

I liked him in his earlier stuff but am not a fan of his filthy comedy. I am sorry to hear about all of the loss in his life. I am excited to see the new show.

I never knew what happened to him after AFV. I used to watch that show religiously when I was younger. I didn’t know he was involved in a new show.

This is pretty awesome. AFV has been running for a long time now and I like the show. I don’t watch it regularly, but it’s a lot of fun!
