I have been looking forward to seeing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies come to the big screen. Ever since I first laid eyes on the hilarious cover that mixed Jane Austen and zombies, I knew this could be an amazing movie I had to see. Read the book also, you won’t regret it. From what I’ve heard so far about this movie it is entertaining and badass mixed into one great flick. This is one my squad and I are surely going to check out for our next girls night.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a comedy and horror movie that just hit theaters on February 5, 2016. The movie is based on the 2009 book of the same name, written by author Seth Grahame-Smith. The movie stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Charles Dance, Lena Headey and Matt Smith. You’ll never look at Pride and Prejudice quite the same, as the movie depicts all five major female characters as zombie attacking warriors. Check out the trailer!

  • Lily James was not the first choice for the role of Elizabeth Bennet. The role was first given to Natalie Portman, but due to scheduling conflicts, she had to withdraw from the movie. Also, considered for the role were Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, and Scarlett Johansson.
  • The movie was filmed in several areas of England: The Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, The Basing House in Old Basing and Frensham Village in Surrey.
  • Charles Dance, who plays the role of Mr. Bennet and Lena Headey, who plays the role of Lady Catherine de Bourgh in the movie, play father and daughter on the HBO TV show, Games of Thrones, as Tywin Lannister and Cersei Lannister.
  • Movie co-stars, Lily James, who plays Elizabeth Bennet and Matt Smith, who plays the role of Mr. Collins have been dating in real-life since 2015! Whoo whoo!
