The movie is about a teenage boy named Jake, who travels to the Home of Peculiar Children that is run by Miss Peregrine. He is put in charge of keeping the children safe from evil creatures. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children stars Asa Butterfield and Eva Green. Here are some other great movies like Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Snow White and the Huntsman is a 2012 dark fantasy movie that is based on the 1812 fairytale Snow White by the Brothers Grimm. The movie takes the Snow White fairytale and puts a twist on it. Snow White is kidnapped and taken into the woods by the Huntsman to be killed. However, he ends up protecting her and teaming up with her to banish the Evil Queen Ravenna. Snow White and the Huntsman stars Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron.

Krampus

Krampus is a 2015 Christmas comedy horror movie that is based on the German folklore character of the same name. The movie is about Max Engel, a young boy who is having a bad Christmas and mistakenly summons the Christmas demon to his house. Krampus stars Emjay Anthony, Adam Scott and Toni Collette.

The Wild Hunt

The Wild Hunt is a 2009 drama horror movie. The movie is about Evelyn, a young girl who is engaged in a live action role-playing game, where she is known as Princess Evlynia. However, when her boyfriend Erik Magnusson, a non-player, enters the game to win her back after they have a fight, it ends in tragedy. The Wild Hunt stars Tiio Horn and Ricky Mabe.

  1. Oz the Great and Powerful was good. I’m not sure why it received negative reviews when it came out, but I believe we joined it just fine. 🙂
    I cannot wait to see Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. My eldest daughter read the book and enjoyed it, my youngest daughter is currently reading it and I need to get on it, because the movie comes out THIS FRIDAY!

  3. My kids and I can NOT wait to see this movie. I just added on our Movie must the others you mentioned. We saw Oz the Great and Powerful it was so good I remember I had first saw in when I was in the hospital preggo w/my youngest LOL..(killing time ) then we got to all watch it together so that movie has a special place in my heart.

  6. I think I would like to read some of these books prior to the movie! It will be perfect to do in the fall and winter on the couch on a cold day…then head to a theater!

  7. I have not heard of most of these movies but I too, love to read the books before going to the movies so maybe a marathon session is in order. I’m thinking I need to see Krampus!

  8. What a cool list! I love how they all have a certain magical/fantasy element to it but still all very different from each other! I actually haven’t seen any of these movies but maybe I should change that!

  15. The movie looks amazing! I loved snow white and the huntsman. Kristen stewart sucked (she’s a terrible actress) but Charlize Theron was amazing!!!

  16. My kids and I just watched the Golden Compass! It was such a cute movie! I love movies with a little bit of mystery and a bunch of action! My boys are just at the age where they want to branch out of cartoons and find other fun family movies like these!
