I can’t believe we’re here again, it’s time for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards recap. The red carpet was star studded as all of TV’s best shows made an appearance. HBO has the most with forty for networks and for programs, Game of Thrones is on all the lists and is def pushing that number higher this year! The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story has the most individual nominations with thirteen. Back in July, I made my Emmy Award predictions for the winners when the nominees were announced. Let’s see how I did! I’ve recapped the show for you, but if you want to just check on your favorite show real quick the full list of winners included at the bottom of this article.
The 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Winners Recap
The 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel which you’ll see more about in the recap below. The awards are presented to the best in the world of primetime television shows that aired from June 1, 2015 to May 31, 2016. Jimmy Kimmel was a much better host than we had for the 2015 Emmy Awards.
The show opens with a spoof of the OJ Simpson Bronco chase, with Malcolm Jamal Warner driving host Jimmy Kimmel to the awards ceremony. Kimmel then gets picked up by The Dunphy Family from Modern Family. Then, he gets picked up by James Corden to engage in Carpool Karaoke, singing Wake Me Up by George Michael. Since Kimmel can’t sing, he gets tossed out of the car by Corden and picked up by Julia Louis Dreyfus, who is being chauffeured by Jeb Bush. Kimmel then gets picked up by a dragon, courtesy of Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, where he safely arrives onstage.
