The 2016 Fall Movie Preview Is Here!

It's here! The 2016 Fall Movie Preview is looking fantastic!

The 2016 fall movie preview is here, and I’ve been waiting on pins and needles to see what’s ahead! We’ve had a chance to see little blips this summer of some of the fantastic films hitting the theater. There are several movies that look promising including Assasin’s Creed, Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, the new Harry Potter flick Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and the new Tim Burton film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. No matter what your favorite type of movie, there is something for everyone from biographical thriller to fantasy adventure to action adventure t and even a decent superhero flick. Here are some of the best movies to check out for fall 2016, and I even included some sneak peek trailers just for you!

The 2016 Fall Movie Preview Is Here!

Morgan– A sci-fi horror movie about a consultant faced with the decision on whether or not to terminate a human hybrid. Kate Mara, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Giamatti stars.

The Light Between Oceans– The Light Between Oceans is a romantic period drama movie about a couple living off the coast, raising a baby they found adrift on a rowboat. Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander. This movie looks so romantic, and may satisfy my need for a good chick flick. I think it’s similar to The Notebook in some ways.

Sully- A biographical drama movie about U.S. Airways Flight 1549 and the emergency landing that took place. Tom Hanks stars as Sully Sullenberger. This movie looks really good and is based on a true story.

Snowden– A biographical, political thriller movie about computer expert, Edward Snowden, who leaked classified NSA information. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Edward Snowden. I can’t wait to see this film, it’s also based on a true story.

Blair Witch– A psychological thriller movie that is the sequel to the 1999 film The Blair Witch Project. The original movie was a phenomenon when it was first released because it was so different than anything else that had been produced. Will the second one still have the same craziness?

Storks– A computer-animated adventure comedy movie about a former stork delivery factory that now delivers packages. It features the voices of Andy Samberg, Kelsey Grammer, Ty Burrell and Jennifer Aniston. Storks looks so cute, and possibly will have some feels too!

Queen of Katwe– A biographical sports drama movie based on the real-life of chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi. Madina Nalwanga stars in the main role as the Queen of Katwe. This film has the potential to be a pretty thoughtful and inspiring film.

MastermindsA heist comedy movie about an armored car company night guard who organizes a large bank heist. The film features an all-star cast including Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children– A dark fantasy adventure movie about a teenage boy who travels to the Home of Peculiar Children, and is tasked with protecting the children from evil forces. Asa Butterfield and Eva Green star. I read the first book in anticipation of this movie because the book is almost always better right? I think this film has the chance to be better in the movie than it was in the book. This is a Tim Burton film which also gives it more potential to be great.

The Girl on the Train– A mystery thriller movie about a woman who takes the train to work every day. One morning she witnesses something shocking, finding herself entangled in a mystery that will change the lives of all who are involved. Emily Blunt stars. I’m not sure about this one; I haven’t heard much buzz yet, but I’m curious.

The Accountant– An action thriller movie about a mathematics savant who works for criminal organizations as a forensic accountant. Ben Affleck stars, which usually means it’s going to be good.

Max Steel– A sci-fi superhero movie of Max McGrath, a teenage boy, and Steel, his alien friend. Ben Winchell stars as Max. Bring on the Superhero movie!

Ouija: Origin of Evil- A supernatural horror movie that is the prequel to the 2014 movie Ouija, this time with a whole new cast and takes place 50 years before Ouija. Elizabeth Reaser, Annalise Basso, and Lulu Wilson star. Ouija boards creep me out.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back– An action thriller movie brings Tom Cruise back as Jack Reacher as a prequel to the 2012 movie Jack Reacher.

Keeping Up with the Joneses- An action comedy movie about a couple, tangled in an espionage plot, discover their new neighbors are secret agents. Jon Hamm, Gal Gadot, Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher star. I’ve seen little blips of this film, and so far it looks interesting.

Rings- A supernatural psychological horror movie that is the 3rd movie in the franchise and takes place 13 years after the first two movies. Matilda Lutz and Alex Roe star.

Doctor Strange- A superhero movie about Stephen Strange, a surgeon who learns mystic arts. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Stephen/Doctor Strange. There is a big following of fans already for this movie!

Hacksaw Ridge– A biographical war movie about the true-life of Desmond T. Doss, a U.S. Army medic who refused to bear arms. Andrew Garfield stars in the main role.

Shut In– A psychological thriller movie about a psychologist who must save a young boy when a deadly storm breaks out. Naomi Watts stars.

Arrival– A sci-fi drama movie about an elite team that investigates the landing of a mysterious spacecraft. Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker star.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them– A fantasy adventure movie that is a spin-off from the Harry Potter films and stars Eddie Redmayne. YESSSSSSS! The new Harry Potter movie, I’m SO excited!

Moana– A computer-animated movie about Moana and her journey to find a fabled island, along the way teaming up with Maui, her hero. This movie features the voices of Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. There is a lot of buzz for this new Disney flick; I’m excited to see it.

Rules Don’t Apply– A romantic comedy, drama movie about two lovers who must keep their relationship from Howard Hughes, their employer. Lily Collins, Alden Ehrenreich, and Warren Beatty star.

La La Land– A romantic musical comedy movie about an aspiring actress and a jazz musician, who meet and fall in love. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star.

The Bye Bye Man– A supernatural horror movie about three college students who are being hunted by The Bye Bye Man, a supernatural entity. Doug Jones, Douglas Smith, Lucien Laviscount and Cessida Bonas.

Rouge One: A Star Wars Story– An epic space movie that takes place before the events of New Hope. We don’t know tons about this movie yet, they keep things under lock and key for this one, but the trailer was just released!

Assassin’s Creed– An action adventure movie based on the popular video game franchise. Assassin’s Creed stars Michael Fassbender in the main role of Callum Lynch. I don’t think you necessarily have to be a fan of the video game already to enjoy the movie, but I know the video game fans are SUPER excited. I found a cool behind the scenes clip on Instagram.

Passengers– A sci-fi movie about two people trapped on a spaceship. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence star.

A Monster Calls– A fantasy drama movie about a young boy, dealing with his mom’s terminal illness and a bully at school, until one day when he meets a humanoid yew tree. Lewis MacDougall, Sigourney Weaver, Liam Neeson, and James Melville star.
